Individualised Learning

Tailored Individual Education Plans

Individualised learning plans, designed to meet the unique needs of your child, lay the foundations for meaning and effective academic learning.

Tailored Education

Our goal is to ensure your child receives a comprehensive education. We develop Individual Education Plan (IEP) to support the distinctive learning needs of each student by focusing on their needs, abilities, interests and curriculum requirements.

Uniquely Targeted Learning

Every student’s unique IEP is like a personalised roadmap, specifically designed to target their comprehensive learning needs. Targeted learning enables students to access the education and support they need whilst helping them reach their God-given potential.

Collaborative Partnerships

Your child’s IEP is created through collaborative partnerships including parents, caregivers and specialised professionals working together as a team to ensure the educational journey of each student is purposeful and crafted for their unique needs.

Learning Goals and Strategies

Your child’s IEP will incorporate short and long-term goals linked to their individual learning objectives. Personalised monitoring of the strategies, developmental outcomes and progress specific to their development will help us evaluate their progress and modify student IEP’s for optimised learning.

Specialist Reports

To assist us in assessing your child’s learning needs and to develop their uniquely tailored IEP, we require a specialised report from a professional healthcare provider. This applies to children who meet the eligibility criteria for Intellectual Disability with a moderate range of impairment as well as those under the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Formal Assessment

Diagnosis of Moderate Intellectual Disability requires your child's full-scale IQ score to be between three to four standard deviations below the mean on an approved individual intelligence test. To confirm this, additional information on formal assessments of adaptive skills and school performance (if applicable) that align with or fall below the range of score is also required to confirm the diagnosis.

Autism Spectrum

Families seeking to enrol their child at New Hope under the Autism Spectrum criteria are required to submit a current diagnosis report under the DSM-5 from a specialist medical practitioner or registered psychologist with relevant clinical expertise detailing the nature of their child’s disorder. This report should include detailed information about your child's developmental disability, affecting both verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as social interaction which significantly impacts your child's learning capacity in the school environment. Additionally, we will need information about functional assessment that is consistent with the diagnosed disorder.

But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”

Luke 18:16
