Meet the Teacher Evening
The New Hope School ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening will be held next week on Tuesday 11 February. The evening will be held in the New Hope classrooms and will commence with a combined session at 6:30pm and conclude between 7:30pm and 8:00pm. This will be an opportunity to find out some important information about your child’s school routines. There will also be an opportunity to book a time for your Individual Education Plan meeting.

Folders in bags
A plastic document folder will be placed in your child’s bag next week. This folder is to stay in your child’s bag permanently and is where we will place permission notes or other notes sent home. Please use this folder to return signed notes also. This folder system will assist our staff in locating returned notes more easily.

Swimming Lessons
This week our first group of students attended swimming lessons at Carlile at Cherrybrook. The students were placed in ability groups and participated well. Swimming lessons are scheduled for Tuesdays with the students leaving school at 12pm after having an early lunch. The lessons are 45 minutes. Please refer to the information that you received via email from Tracey Young (NHS admin) to note the dates that your child will be attending and requiring their swimming gear.

Library lesson times will be communicated to you as soon as the timetable has been finalised by the Library staff. In Library lessons, the students will have the opportunity to borrow books which can be borrowed for up to 2 weeks. To ensure that the books are well protected we ask that you provide a library bag for borrowing.

Social media
The New Hope School community has a closed Facebook group for parents and staff. It can be used as a way to share helpful resources. New Hope staff may also post reminders about events or photos and feedback about events. If you are on Facebook, you are welcome to request to join this group. There is also a public New Hope School Facebook page and Instagram account which you can ‘like’ and ‘follow’ to see photos and news items.
