Book Week
It was great to see many of the students and staff dress up for book week today (Friday). We had Cinderella, Cat in the Hat, Mary Poppins, Wally (from Where’s Wally), Obi Wan Kenobi and Jamie Oliver and several others. We were thankful to Miss Bunn from the Library for visiting us at our assembly this afternoon. She shared one of the books from the 2019 Children’s Book of the Year Awards. The students listened very well and appreciated her visit. Please enjoy the photos below.

Samaritan’s Purse
New Hope School is again supporting the wonderful work of Samaritan’s Purse in third world countries. One of their many outreaches is to provide Christmas gifts of shoeboxes filled with quality items for many millions of children who live in these developing countries. In 2018, the PHCS and NHS school community donated a total of just over 600 boxes. More information can be found at . Every box brings immense joy to a child who would not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas.
In order to support these children, we are giving our NHS families some options in terms of how you can assist:
- We’ll be filling boxes here at NHS, so please bring in any items such as toothbrush, children’s clothing, toys, pencils, writing paper, soap, stickers and soft toys.
- Donate $10 which covers the shipping and other project costs of each box.
- If you would like to pack your own box please contact the NHS office and we will send a box home with your child.
The filled boxes, items or money donated needs to be returned by Friday 20th September, though may be brought in any time prior to this.
