Compassion Child Sponsorship

Worldwide, 385 million children live in extreme poverty. This means that they are robbed of their basic rights to learn, play and grow – and in some cases, this can lead to exploitation or even death. We believe that this is unacceptable … so we are doing something about it.

Through Compassion’s Child Sponsorship Program, our New Hope School community has continued providing support for Bryan Leiva Galan from the Amigos de Jesus Student Centre in El Salvador. The sponsorship allows the centre to provide Bryan and others with Bible teaching, medical check-ups, dental and hygiene education, special celebrations, school fees and computer classes, as well as support for the parents.
Our students have enjoyed receiving letters and photos from Bryan, and have loved the opportunity to contribute to writing letters to him. Being able to share stories and pictures of their interests and favourite things has been wonderful for many of our students. They particularly loved celebrating Bryan’s birthday and making him a birthday card.

Our students have also loved the opportunity to contribute to fundraising activities, such as making smoothies or hosting BBQs, which have helped raise the funds needed to provide ongoing support.
Together with Compassion, we are releasing a child from poverty, in Jesus’ name.
Happy Birthday Bryan
